Agreement to Terms
By downloading or using Maho applications, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you may not use our software.
License
Maho grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software for personal or commercial use. This license does not grant you any rights to modify, distribute, or create derivative works unless explicitly permitted in writing by the Developer, or under a separate open-source license accompanying a specific component released as such.
The software is provided as-is. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the software at any time without notice.
Software License
Maho Browser and Maho Mail are proprietary software, developed and provided by an individual developer (hereinafter "the Developer"). The software is licensed, not sold, under the terms of this agreement. Source code is not publicly distributed. The Developer may, at sole discretion, release individual components as open source under separate license terms; such components are governed by their respective licenses.
User Data
Maho applications run locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, emails, browsing history, or any other information to our servers. All data remains under your control on your device.
Third-Party Services
Maho applications connect to email providers, local sync servers, and AI model backends. These connections are made directly from your device, or through our billing proxy for managed subscriptions. We are not responsible for the availability, terms, or policies of third-party model providers.
Pricing and Billing
Maho offers three recurring monthly subscription tiers: Free at $0/mo, Pro at $5/mo, and Max at $20/mo. Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless you cancel before the renewal date. Billing is processed through LemonSqueezy, our Merchant of Record.
Pay-as-you-go credits are sold as one-time purchases in $10, $50, and $100 packs. Credits never expire in your account. Credit purchases are non-refundable after 14 days from the purchase date. Refunds requested within 14 days are capped at the unconsumed balance.
Bring your own key (BYOK) is free and does not create any Maho billing. If you use BYOK, you are responsible for the terms, pricing, and account standing with your API provider.
Frontier models are excluded from Maho-managed tiers and are available through BYOK only. Maho does not bill you for BYOK usage. Your provider bills that usage directly under its own pricing.
You can cancel subscriptions at any time. Paid access continues until the end of the current paid period, and then the subscription does not renew.
Acceptable Use & Abuse Prevention
You agree not to use Maho-managed AI services for any unlawful activities, generation of prohibited content, or automated bulk spamming. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that exhibit abusive usage patterns, exceed their tier-specific per-request limits, or attempt to bypass billing and authentication mechanisms.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the Developer, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the software after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
